From heated to drenched

The heatwave finally ended last Thursday via a thunderstorm, one with winds and rains strong enough to knock over several of my plants. It has been raining every day since. While we certainly needed the rain, I'm not sure we needed a dousing.

From what I can tell through the raindrops, many of my plants did not survive the heat wave. And plants like the sunflowers are now drooping from the rain. I've staked them, in hopes of building their stalk strength, but it may be too late. 

My poor geraniums are so laden with water that they're liquifying. My galaxy petunias have also either shriveled up to nothing or gone into hiding. Both of these events bum me out.

On the plus side, at least four of the daisies have blossomed, bringing a touch of friendliness to an otherwise gray world.
