Today I planted the rest of the deck planters, adding seeds to soil in hopes that something -- anything -- will grow in the next few weeks. Now comes fingers-crossed-time.
Plants: I staked the blueberry bush and one of the sunflower pots and topped 'em with a sturdy chicken wire cloche to keep out the chipmunks and voles.
Then, I planted these seeds:
The galaxy petunias look gorgeous, purple and full of stars. The strawberry plant is definitely growing, it's vines hanging down along the length of the shepherd's hook.
The raspberry bush is beginning to flower and the blueberry bush has the beginnings of berry goodness starting to grow. Wonder what desserts I will make with the fruits of their labors.
Pruning: Deadheaded the white geranium, which was starting to look a bit ragged, as well as the galaxy petunias.
Weather: Low 55/High 68 degrees, light rain, 42% humidity, 4 mph wind. UV index 4 of 10. Barometric pressure 30.03 falling. Moon phase: Waxing crescent.
